The visual kei

The visual kei is a genre of japanese rock (j-rock), it consists in stylish clothes, manga-like hair with sometimes flashy colors, where every bands have their own "visual indentity" that means that means that every bands have a different style of music and clothes.
Some are mistaking the visual kei with the emo core but visual kei is not emo.

The style of music of the visual kei can't really be clasified, because visual kei bands like to mix different style of musics but it's mostly rock.

It is inspired by the street fashion of Harajuku (a famous district of Tokyo) the glam rock (Queen ...), the punk (The Sex Pistols... ), gothic fashion and the traditional clothing of Japan (like kimonos...).

One of the crators of this movement is the band X japan (who made the ending song of Saw I.V), they were in the first bands that dressed up visual kei, and because the word "Visual kei" come from the slogan: "Psychedelic Violence of Visual Shock" of X japan.

Visual kei is a bit known in France because we are the second buyers of manga and japanese music's album in the world.

My favorites Visual kei bands are Malice Mizer(the second pic),Versailles(the first pic) , Moi Dix Mois,X Japan(the last pic) and a lot of others.
