le jardin du luxembourg et le pantheon

"Le jardin du Luxembourg" was established in 1612 at the request of Marie de Medicis.

It was rebuilt by the architect Jean-François Charling-

It is made of 23 hectares animated by a parterre of flower and sculptures.

Located in the heart of the latin quarter of Paris ( 5th arrondissement ) the gardens hosted several buildings

The place headquarters of luxembourg where the Senate, the Upper House of Parliement ( Luxembourg is a private garden open to the public )

Not very far from the jardin du Luxembourg, there is the Pantheon.

The Panthéon is a building in the Latin Quarter in Paris, France.Located in the V arrondissement on the top of Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, the Panthéon looks out over all of Paris. Its architect, Jacques-Germain Soufflot, had the intention of combining the lightness and brightness of the gothic cathedral with classical principles.

King Louis XV vowed in 1744 that if he recovered from an illness he would replace the ruined church of Sainte-Geneviève (see entry Genevieve) with an edifice worthy of the patron saint of Paris. The Marquis of Marigny was entrusted with the work. He had sponsored the architect Soufflot, whom he chose for the construction of the new Église Sainte-Geneviève (today the "Panthéon") The foundations were laid in 1758.

Ichose to tell you about le jardin du luxembourg et le pantheon because they are the most important monuments for me, in Paris and i find there monument great ! ^^
